STAFF

Tom Newton, DVM, runs an ambulatory equine practice with emphasis on reproductive services, based at Little Hawk Farm. Dr. Newton will also provide a limited non-reproductive ambulatory service. Dr. Newton will be happy to attend horses brought to LHF for most routine services, such as Coggins, vaccinations, floating teeth, lameness workups and radiographs.
Under Dr. Newton's management, Little Hawk Farm has a history of a very successful conception rate due to the attention to each mare's breeding cycle through a program of teasing and palpation.

Jennifer Newton handles the farm management, all billing and financial matters. Jennifer is trained as an attorney but enjoys putting her organizational talents into this cooperative venture with her husband, Tom.

The Team: Little Hawk Farm is privileged to have a staff of dedicated, capable people. Many thanks go out to Jessica Heward,Omar Mendoza, Hector Granada, Buddy Barnes, Scott Richeson and Cara Carne, for the excellent care of the horses, facility and gorunds of Little Hawk Farm.
Also thanks to the supportive boarders who pitch in when needed to see that everything is taken care of. Foaling season can get hectic when the horse population increases and the hours are long.
Jess Heward is our Farm Manager and works directly with Dr. Newton to makes sure everything runs smoothly.

Dr. Olive Britt (deceased March 13, 2006) Dr. Britt needed no introduction to many of you. She came to the Richmond area in the early 60's and served the horses in this area and their owners with total dedication and enthusiasm. For several of her early years in this area her practice was based out of Little Hawk Farm. We are all sadden by her passing.
